| Frequently Asked Questions Many of our friends writing in for information ask similar questions. We will be answering many of these questions about the Oratory here, since we do not have the staff to write letters in answer to each one. Question: I don't have a computer or access to the Internet. Can I still be part of the Oratory? Answer: Absolutely. Public Libraries offer Internet access to their patrons, so you can get to the library and print the meditations there. Or, when starting an Oratory, try to find potential members who are Internet savvy, and you will have this problem solved. The Internet has become so pervasive in our society, that it is nearly impossible that anyone will not be able to find a family member, son or daughter, grandchild, spouse, friend, co-worker, fellow parishioner, or fellow Oratory member who does not have access to this site. Question: Is there some other way to get the weekly meditations and news from the Oratory other than the Internet? And if no, Why not? Answer: No, the meditations and news will only be available on this site. The reason for this is that we are understaffed and short on resources. There is no possible way our volunteers could mail out copies of everything to all the thousands of people who request information. And the paper and postage costs are very expensive. So this information is provided here in a simple, easy to use format that is available to everyone at a minimal cost. Question: I am having trouble printing these pages out. What can I do? Answer: For a complete, printable version of this website, click here. Question: I have personal matters that I would like to ask Fr. Benedict’s help with. Can I reach him through the Oratory? Answer: No. While Fr. Benedict is the founder of the Oratory of Divine Love movement, the day-to-day activities and correspondence are handled exclusively by our volunteer staff. Fr. Benedict does not receive or handle any of the correspondence that comes to the Oratory office, which is actually located in a different State! Question: I have questions which are not related to the Oratory, can I ask Fr. Benedict or the Staff these questions by writing in? Answer: We will only answer letters about the Oratory. It is not possible for Fr. Benedict or any of the staff to give advice, counseling, spiritual direction, or to answer inquiries about the faith. We are all very busy handling the logistical side of this work, and there has been a great response to this website. We simply have to limit ourselves to processing registrations for the Oratory. Other letters cannot be answered (Fr. Benedict gets about twelve hundred pieces of mail per month right now). Question: There are many typos, errors and inconsistencies on this website, and it takes you a very long time to respond. Why is that? Answer: The Oratory is run by a staff of volunteers. From secretarial work, to graphic and web design, to planning and processing; all the work is handled by Catholics serving the Lord, in addition to their regular personal jobs and duties. In addition to that, the response has been larger and quicker than we anticipated. For these reasons, we ask you to be patient with us, as we are doing our best to not only keep up, but improve and grow. Thank you for your patience and consideration. |
